DisplayFusion -69% (multimonitor program) on Steam

Guest

The title says it all, the deal is until january 2 and when I reinstall Windows 7 tomorrow I will buy it.

I highly recommend it because I used it before in the past.

Here is a review Luke made about it once:

Many benefits like having the same taskbar on all monitors, all icons on all taskbars, or not, or only some, much to be customized, also wallpaper customizing across multiple monitors....

:P Let me search a video or review about it.

If I buy this for Windows 7, will I have to repurchase it for Windows 10?

I have it for my triple. I can't live without it now.

If you have a multi monitor config and don't have this software, you're doing it wrong.

There's a trial version for 90 days if you aren't sure.

Yes you can, as long as you have steam installed.

from the DF Steam page

A single DisplayFusion Pro on Steam license can be used on multiple computers, as long as you are the primary user of those computers, and can run Steam on them

You don't need to have Steam running to use DisplayFusion

Honestly, I only use it because it has amazing wallpaper features to compensate for the incompetent win 7. I normally just load up a few wallpapers, let it stitch together, then use the images as a normal wallpaper and uninstall it. But nowadays I tend to use some other features so I keep it installed

The taskbar and wallpaper tool is a life saver. Worth every penny. I think I spend the same amount as this on mine. I bought it during a steam summer sale. The new 5.0 version also has a quick audio device selector is nice too. Also being able to use your wallpaper as the login screen is pretty cool.

Would highly recommend this.

There's a function that allows you to alt tab without games minimizing while in full screen so you can use your 2nd monitor when you wait for a game to finish. There is also a function that acts like soundswitch where you assign a hotkey to switch audio devices without have to do it manually. The window/mouse management and alt tab handler are extremely customizable and very helpful. They may seem minor but, it enhances the experience significantly in my opinion.

If you  have 8.1 or 10 I don't really think it's that great

please explain to me how else I'm going to take full advantage of having friends over play a game fullscreen(windowed) on my secondary monitor with a xbox controller while I play (or work / browse) on my main panel with KB&M?

not sure but does 8.1 even:

support multi wallpaper?

can you use a shortcut for switching items between screens? (useful for switching fullscreen(windowed) games

can you customize the taskbar to have different shortcuts on each screen?

can you set which applications should launch on which screen?

watch slicks video in the main post, it covers a few of the settings you can use, but really, this thing is super customizable for power users.

I don't know, if you wanted to do that I guess this program is for you? I've never had a need to do that and the only games I play with a controller are on a PS2 emulator and it does exactly what you describe.

1) Yes, right click and designate image to each monitor.

2) I'm not sure what you mean, but yes to both interpretations. Alt tab (which I don't think you mean) and Win+arrow for window in focus to snap between screens, or Win+Shift+arrow to completely move window to another screen in the same position.

3) You could choose whether a full task bar appears or only opened windows, or clone the entire task bar in every window. With the ease of using the new start screet you don't need to flood your taskbar anyway. Start screen can open on any window depending on where your focus is, or on a designated monitor.

4) Don't they already do that automatically depending on where they're closed?

There's a shitload more that I don't use. If anything here is useful to anyone, they will memorize it purely from use. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Table_of_keyboard_shortcuts

I watched the video and tried Displayfusion before, but uninstalled it. Windows already handles the important features that DF has well enough, and the niche ones.. I won't even use frequently enough to remember and I use 3 1440's and a 1080p companion. You may have also kind of skipped over the part where I said.

I [..] think

Maybe it's just me, but with all the desktop space I have, the features that windows already has are adequate for me, but I guess someone else might want to do whatever it is that they like that DF does.

Again, maybe it's just me, but when I look at a lot of the features and shortcuts that DF has I usually think:

"Why would I need to do that?"

"When I need to do that, will I even remember how to from the lack of not needing to?"

"Oh, this is useful, but Windows already does that"

it's one of those things where if this is useful to you, you will have already found it or will find it after looking. It's not really something you need presented, it's sought by you, instead of sold to you. But this is off topic since that's not what's actually happening here.
