Strange problem (:

sifalio

Hello!!!
I have an asus p8z77-v deluxe and recently I deal with some problems.
Sometimes when I turn on my pc it displays an error code 00 and I have to push the reset button to start normaly.
Moreover, sometimes when I turn on my pc, immediately turns off and starts again.

What could be wrong?

Thanks!!!

Sounds like an unhappy psu, the pc is probably not getting enough power to get always going from try 1.

Quoting: "The "00" code is a troublesome error to diagnose. On the surface, it might mean that the CPU is not detected but the error code can also be atributed to a motherboard malfunction or even RAM."

Just make sure all the cables are connected properly. Someone had this same code because he didnt plug un the 8pin connector,

quoting:"haha I am such an idiot! Hadn't connected the 8pin connector. But that's partly because of the confusion because of the labeling on the PSU. The PSU has two 8pin connectors next to each other and on the bottom, it says: 6+2 PCI-E & 4+4. It's the second one I should connect it to, right?"

Check that the CPU cooler isn't tied down too tight that it flexes the board as that can cause issues, try with one stick of ram at the time, check if all the connectors are in place. Check if cpu cooler's fans are connected

He's got a 750W PSU, I doubt that s the issue with his setup. It should be more than enough

PSU's can degrade over the years or can be just faulty.

Motherboard can also be the problem, but it's weird it sometimes does work then.

Maybe reinstalling the cpu fixes it. Just taking it out and placing it back again.

I recently bought this psu.

I'm using a sleeve cable extension for the 8pin.

Maybe it is the problem.

With my previous psu I didn't have those issues.

Are you overclocked?

I have the same motherboard and I've noticed that sometimes my computer will try to start up multiple times depending what overclock profile I have selected. For example I can boot up normally on my 4.2Ghz profile but sometimes my 4.4Ghz profile takes a few times to start up.

I can guarantee you though, it's not a power issue :)

I have my 3770k overclocked at 4.5ghz...I don't have any profiles.

I have put 1.28v,should I put more?

Sorry for the late reply.

Anywho, 1.28v is what I have at 4.4, so maybe try a bit higher, like 1.3-1.35v.

I'm not sure if adjusting the voltage will fix anything though, but I would try it :)

Guys, I found the problem. :)

The guilty was the 8 pin extension.
I had it from my the previous psu and I had to have removed it. :D
Probably it made some kind of short-circuit.

Thanks a lot!!!
