URGENT: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB Kit - MHz issues

its working properly

DDR=Double Data Rate

Hello,

So I got two of these kits, http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vengeance-pro-series-16gb-2-x-8gb-ddr3-dram-1866mhz-c9-memory-kit-cmy16gx3m2a1866c9 totaling 32GB.

So now as the title states, the MHz issues are coming in CPU-Z along with Task Manager in Windows 8.1, please take a look at this picture: http://i.imgur.com/Up9qDih.png - Please keep in mind that what you see on CPU-Z is exact same on all 4 slots.

Then I move to "Memory" tab on CPU-Z and I see 933 MHz which changes from that to like 933.3 to like 933.4 slowly and that's about it, http://i.imgur.com/QRsiv2n.png

So as you can see I'm really confused about all this now I did do some Googling and found that it's pretty common and asks you to enable XMP and all that in BIOS which I did but still it didn't help. The BIOS will recognize the memory as 1866 MHz after enabling XMP otherwise it's set at 1333 MHz but the system will not regardless of what I do. It's really bothersome and I would like this issue to be rectified if anyone got anything to add on it, please let me know. I'm gonna try couple of things and update this thread again once done like taking out 1 kit and only keeping 1 kit in there, meaning only 2 RAMs in there and see if that shows any different stats.

I also should mention I had 1600 MHz RAM before which was Corsair Vengeance, not the Pro and it worked just fine and always showed 1600 MHz in Task Manager in Windows 8.1 as well as CPU-Z but the issue arises on this one here, no idea why. Probably just have to tweak around with settings but can't seem to figure it out, I did try to manually increase the DRAM frequency from BIOS as well even after enabling XMP but that didn't help with anything either.

Please let me know if you require any further details at all,

Thank you.

They will not ramp up if there's no demand.

I kinda figured ... but that would be in CPU-Z right? What about task manager though?

Figured that as well but what about the SPD tab on CPU-Z and 1333 MHz being on Task Manager? My 8GB single stick 1600 MHz Corsair Vengeance would show 1600 MHz at all times.

ignore task manager, it gives wrong information most of the time, especially on windows 8.

Thanks broski, figured as much but just wanted to make sure just in case lol. So I guess I'm all good at my end or is there any certain test you want me to try to push it's limits to see if it's taking advantage of it's full speed or not, perhaps like a benchmark or something?

No if CPU-Z says 1866 then it is correct, I wouldn't worry about it.

Windows 8 task manager looks nice, but the accuracy is a POS, telling people their CPU is at 6GHz lol

CPU-Z never said 1866 though .. oh you mean 933*2 = 1866 then yeah and says 1866 in BIOS I checked multiple times so I guess we're good.

Gosh! 6GHz would give a heart attack to someone like me who isn't over clocking and it's still on Intel's heatsink and not a cooler, lolol.

Thanks a lot for your quick input though, bro. Highly appreciated!
