Good open headphones under $100

Title says it all, I am looking for a good set of open headphones with deep lows, balanced mids, and crisp highs. Budget $100, guess I could go SLIGHTLY over, but not too much.

 

Also going to be using a modmic with these headphones.

On amazon they say it is a studio headphone, but I assure you it is not what the sound signature will be. A friend has them and they are definitely not studio grade headphone but excelent hifi phones.

 

PS: I hate open headphones, but since these are half-open you still get that thing that I assume like about open design headphones but with a more present low-end frequency.

I just need open headphones for my microphone and not have it sound like (to me) that my voice is muffled when wearing a headset and speaking so I don't know if those will do. I guess anything akg is good? i'll look around. I do like the looks of those tho, more then the sennheisers.

well anything "brand" is never good i think^^ but the sennheisers are just a popular recommendation here on ltt forum i found out lately.

you will just have to find out whats best, these akg phones are really good and the price is right - u can get them lot cheaper when u look around a bit.

HD518 is a well built open solution that sounds decent enough.

Pioneer SE-A1000 if you don't need deep cups, Takstar HI 2050 has super solid construction, ATH-TAD400 if you don't mind importing.

Used DT990 would be good. You might be able to nab one on head-fi's classifieds for $110 or $120.

My personal rig - 4790k 4.8Ghz, Asus Z97 Pro (wi-fi ac), Corsair Dominator Plat 4x8GB, SLI GTX 1080 TI FE, Samsung 850 Evo 1TB, Crucial MX100 512GB, EVGA G3 1000W, and cooled by a hardline liquid cooling loop.
