I ask because my friend lost her driver cd for her laptop. If she bought her laptop at a physical store, could she maybe get a replacement driver cd from there? Or again if she bought it at a physical store, could she go to the laptop maufacturers site to get the drivers? Which is more probable to you? Thanks for any help!!!!

I doubt the driver CD had Linux drivers on it but you can always head on over to the manufacturer's website.

1. So then how would I overcome the incompatibility problem for the drivers?

2. If she did go to the site to get the drivers, would the model number or serial number of the computer help her find the right drivers????

most of the time the bottom of the laptop has a serial number or a model number if you have access to a PC to type these messages then you can download the drivers for her.
