[Unofficial LTT] NZXT H440 Owners Club

The problem with the matrix plat is that it has a weird shape. So the widest point is 15.24 CM. Might not be 15.24CM at the end point... But I'm afraid that the only oppertunity to know this, is by testing it.

Can you try to measure how far there is from the back plate of the case to the HDD shroud how far that is ? Like the plate facing the window on the right.

:EDIT: It also says in the describtion that there's 180MM clearence for the CPU cooler

I've got a hyper 212 evo in mine with room to spare. If you're worried, I'd spend a little extra and get an H630 with a windowed side panel (Micro center has them for 120, and the panel is another 40).

You're and your are not the same. Neither are their, there, and they're. Defiantly and Definitely are definitely not the same. Definately and Rediculous are not words, and you should feel bad for misspelling them. If English is your first language, you don't have a learning disorder, and you get any of these wrong, you are making the entire forum slightly dumber by doing so. Please take the extra three seconds to type properly, and have a nice day.

The problem is that the h440 is just perfect. Hides the PSU, has an awesome design, looks insanely good and yearh...

How much room do you have to spare?

Haven't measured, but from eyeballing it I'd say there's about a centimeter between the top of the heatpipes and the window. Then again, there's also a centimeter between the side panel and the edge of the drive bay rack.

What are you mounting that reservoir to?

Also, to the dude asking about the Matrix card: I just took the panel off and measured for you. There's about 6cm of additional clearance between the hard drive wall and the edge of a standard-width GPU. Not sure exactly how much bigger the Matrix is at the point where it would make contact, though.

I had to made a custom bracket for it..bought some bracket and do some modified on it, apply black paint and you are done...

Basically the same build I'm planning to do, same case, same ram, same motherboard, same cooler, same fans, saving for buying the parts right now. Just having second thoughts about the Formula, since I don't plan on watercool it I'm thinking on getting the new VII Hero instead wich looks awesome and it's cheaper.

Congrats, it looks amazing!

Hey guys! I have a tricky question I hope someone can answer heh :)

I'm about to buy one of these beauties but I'm afraid my H80i cooler won't fit in the top above the HDD trays..I do not want it in the back cause it will cover so much of dat sexy VRM heatsink :/

And to be clear when I say won't fit I mean that I'm worried that the tube length won't be enough to stretch that far.

I really want to buy this case but that would be a deal breaker for me!

Thx for any help :)

Hullo,

I got the case and it looks great!!

But I just have one minor doubt. Is this really what a silent case sounds like?

I mean, it's great and all, and a bit quieter than my cm storm sniper which had 2x200 fans, and 4x120mm fans with two being radiator fans, along with other things etc. But the cm was only marginally louder, if not the same.

I've even went and undervolted the fan hub to 7V (note that the fans don't start at 5V) and it was still discernibly loud.

Did I just set my expectations too high for a silent case, or is this as good as it gets?

Also, the back side panel foam is far too thick, it seriously kills all cabling space, considering my psu is fully non-modular, it's hard to do individual sleeving. The 24 pin has made some hefty imprints on the back.

Home is where the heart my desktop is.

Nicely done! But I have to ask, what possessed you to paint your case to look like an orange creamsicle?

Hey there, I'm also using the NZXT H440 in what is my first PC build. I've attached a picture of the finished build to this post. My specs are:

- Asus Z87-Pro

- Intel i5 4670

- MSI Twinfrozr GTX 770

- Cosair 4GBx2 16oomhz DDR3

- Kingston SSDnow v300

- EVGA Supernova 650W 80+ Gold

I have two questions for you as well.

Firstly, I've noticed that when using AI suite 3 with my ASUS mobo, when I use the silent profile so the fans switch off when the temperature is lower than a certain point, two of my bundled FN V2 120mm fans make a whining sound. I have these connected to the CHA_FAN connectors on my motherboard to take advantage of this feature, however the electrical whine, although not too loud, defeats this purpose. Is this a problem with my fans or my motherboard, and if it is my fans, should I ask for replacements?

Secondly, I would like to know whether the fan hub on the back of the case is compatible with NZXT's CAM  software, and if so, will it offer the same change in fan speeds as the motherboard does?

It was such a pain in the ass to fit the pump/res combo to the panel, where the hard drives actually would fit.., the front rad tourned out to be thicker than in the product description
i had luck that my friend gave me a pump mounting bracket from his Phanteks Enthoo Primo, otherwise i would have no clue how or where to mount the pump.. i just had to drill 2 holes in the panel

I think about modding the front panel.. since its really restrictive and with the radiator and pump/res combo mounted behind the fans its almost impossible for air to come through..
Someone already drilled or cut some vents in the front panel? How?

Sorry, i noticed the pics have wrong orientation :/ hope you don't mind

Unfortunately, I've run into some problems with this case.  I'd really appreciate if anyone could help me answer some of my questions.  This is my first time building a computer, so forgive me if I ask anything that may seem obvious.

1. Part of the 3 pin connector seems to be broken.  Could I get a confirmation on this and whether if I could still use it? I see only 2 pins and wires on it. (Picture below, sorry for the bad quality)

2. Any suggested LED lights to use?  I have looked at Bitfenix alchemy strips but how many should I need to light up the inside?  Also, how would I go about setting this up?  One of the case fans seems to be blocking the way.

3. Could anyone suggest where I could get a SATA power connector for my SSD on the tray?  The cables my psu provided won't fit (It bends and is blocked by the psu shroud)

Thanks in advance!
