When do prices drop?

Combatman12
Go to solution Solved by MoonSpot,

During the summer when no one is buying.  Then they tend to go back up before school starts up again.

For things like hardware and peripherals when do they drop? I live in the UK and do not have a near by place to buy parts. I'm particularly thinking about ebay, amazon, scan.uk, part picker. Also, over time parts drop in price, in however long how much cheaper will hardware and peripherals be?

:)

Older hardware is the only thing that will ever drop in price.

prices drops after amazon first hikes the price 50% then lowers it back down again and has a sale :)

(sees this a LOT when people here post great deals, i then look at the price comparing site we have here in sweden and the price statistics it keeps for years and i see that we have had that "sale price" for the past 2 years :P

When I say they can. And I say tomorrow.

What do they know of England, who only England know?

Some prices like for RAM are not likely to drop anytime soon. Reason is that before companies were selling ram with really low margins. Now that prices have gone up legitimately for other reasons (the Hynix fire) they can just keep them up and customers will still buy.

It's usually older hardware that drops in price a bit.

Literally impossible to answer, the older parts get the cheaper they become, generally they hold their price until new products are announced, or the product is obsolete

Brand New items don't fluctuate that much. Second Hand however really does, especially just before Christmas ;)

Obviously when new Generations of the same Technology come along, or are announced. I mean you should have seen the price of the GTX TITAN when they announced the 780Ti.

Over £1000 ---> Under £1000 in a couple of hours.

Amazing.

Just.

Amazing.
