Where to put games on a hybrid storage setup

Hi all,

I have a 500gb m.2 NVMe boot drive with a 2tb HDD... I was wondering where to put my steam games/programs. Currently, I install all steam games to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam" and programs also in the C: drive. I do that because it is on my fast drive - is this the 'right' way to do this. But I've seen videos that say put games on the HDD - but wouldn't that slow down the game?????.

that will increase loading time (HDDs are slower after all), but doesnt affect fps because after the game's loaded, it's running in RAM and VRAM. It will still need to access the HDD, but far less frequently and not enough to drop fps.

Is this the same for programs?

Except those that read or write data to storage drives constantly, like video editing apps.
