How do you run windows on an ssd but you have data in your hard drive already?

Just install windows on the ssd. In bios then select the ssd as your primary boot drive.

All of your old files will still be in the hdd.

And if your ssd failed, you can boot to your HDD as long as you don't touch the windows folder on the hdd.
