Register at a mining pool of your choice which features the currency you're interested in and download GUI or cgminer.

If you're going to mine with PC hardware, don't even try. You lose money doing this (you spend more on electricity than what you make in btc). Your next best bet is to begin mining litecoins, here you can make a slight profit if you plan it right.

Judging by your Asus K53E, you have an i3-2230M and onboard graphics. Don't do it, it's not even remotely worth it.

Buy a bunch of AMD GPU's and maybe a new motherboard, big power supply...

 

Seriously though, it's kinda expensive to get in to, and depending on where you live entirely not worth it.

Buy one of those butterfly things that mine like 100g/hs and your good to go, follow the instruction that should come with the miner.
