Say what you want about Apple, they have great customer service in my experience.

So, my step-dad ordered an Apple TV for his iPhone so he can watch movies on his TV in his room from our NAS. Well, he forgot that he made his Apple account back when we lived somewhere else and hadn't changed the address since then.

When he realized it was being shipped to the wrong address, he called Apple customer support and let them know. So they sent a redirect, but the Apple employee said that they don't always catch them, so he would send another Apple TV to our current address just in case.

My step-dad then asked what he should do if both arrive (the redirect working). Like, should he send one back, or what?

Well, the employee said "No, you can keep both."

So, we might very well get two Apple TV devices for the price of one. Due to an error on our part.

[insert title]

Just thought I would share this, because I feel Apple gets a little too much flak sometimes for being "premium". Sometimes premium has it's benefits. :)

Note: I've heard similar stories about Alienware's customer service (i.e. giving out free upgrades when things break) from people on this forum. So yeah. Similar situations have happened there as well.

There is so much face in this palm that facepalm has become a single element.

It costs $64 to make a single Apple TV. Along with the millions in R and D, it makes no sense that they would make any profit.

That's pretty nice of them..

TBH, the main reason that most of the time people see bad feedback about companies is because usually only the people with bad experiences feel a need to talk about it.. If a person gets good service, they usually just assume that's how it should be and they never write any reviews or anything..

My customer service experiences with various companies have usually gone pretty well..

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

That's awesome! I'll have that second one. :P

The only problem I have is that their genius bar employees are kind of a-hole-ish. (From my perspective and from what I've overheard in the stores) I don't like the way you get things from the store, also.

I love apple dont get me wrong. but what really pisses me of is when peeple go around saying apple is the best and when your in a public place you see EVERY one holding a iphone. And how much Apple rip people of the prices are insane it upsets me in a way so many people spend way more then they need to on a good phone or computer.

The funniest thing is to walk in and talk to someone at the Genius Bar and say something that they should probably know and most of the time they don't (i.e: Do the Processors you use have Hyper Threading or What bus is the VRAM on the GPU's you have.) It is hilarious every time

It is not necessarily the hardware that makes a phone good, but also the software. I own an NVIDIA SHIELD, ASUS Nexus 7 FHD, Samsung Galaxy S and an iPhone 5, and I have not had a better software experience for mobile than on iOS. I still like Android, but iOS is preferred for me. Not everything Apple sells is overpriced. The Mac Pro is $1000 less than comparable server-grade machines. The Apple TV is well priced considering what it can do as well.

Hmm well that was nice of Apple. I actually like Apple I would like a Mac and I would use my PC for gaming and just chuck SteamOS on it. Personaly I have only ever moved the mouse on a mac but other than gaming everything else I do a Mac would be great for.

No one pays for phones outright, they all get them on subsidised contracts with telco's and pay $40/month for them. The companies ripping people off in this situation is the telco's, not Apple. If you think Apple products are overpriced, you literally know nothing about them.

They guessing they don't treat you nicely unless you know what you're talking about.

A "Genius" told my mom to get a new battery when hers blew instead of listening to me when I suggested buying a new laptop. Her Macbook Pro was like 6 years old at the time and she had to pay some kind of fee to get a replacement. She ended up spending $1499 on a new 15" Macbook Pro a few months later.

Her laptop is more expensive than my rig and she said mine was "overkill" and too "expensive".

Your mom also got mad when you gave her $50 for her birthday. Your mom also just made you bike to my house in 0 degree weather when she could drive. Your mom also doesn't let you play video games. I'm seeing a pattern...

Apple has been amazing to me. My iPod classic was messing up so I brought it in. They just gave me a new one with a higher capacity because they couldn't fix it. Best of all they did so for free.

You forgot she gets mad when I'm less than a minute late coming home. and that bike ride was 3.7 miles over a bunch of hills.

I'll grant you the phones are subsidised, but to suggest that a macbook pro is worth 2 thousand USD.....your crazy. I could build a WAAAY better setup for that price

Good for you, but you're not the person that Mac's are marketed to, and no one is making you buy it. It doesn't effect you. Just get over it.

as a shareholder i can say this isn't true. Their profit margins have been dropping these last 2 years. If I remember correctly it's about 35% or so.

I'm not saying apple makes a massive margin, but defiantly not only 35% margin buy the time that gets to apple they would loose money.

OK well when the Iphone 5 came out my mum spent $800 on it when she could have spent less on a Samsung phone and still got the same or even better

No one forces anyone to buy anything. Just because you think a product isn't worth its price-tag doesn't mean anyone else thinks that too. If the price was justified for her, then great, but what you think really means nothing.
