Gtx 980 ti or 1070?

Edddddd

I will use whichever one I get for Htc vive and 1440p gaming, which one is better for me. My psu and cpu are good enough for both.....

980 ti £270

1070 £320

Thanks :)

they perform very similarly, so just go for the 980ti.

a 980 ti is the same as a 1060 6gb, the 1070 will be better. If you want some more performance though, go get a used 1080 off ebay. Seems sketchy, but just make sure of its condition, and they have TONS of life in them so any will surfice

I'd disagree. My 980 (non TI) outperforms my 1060 6bg by a few fps.

Personally, I'd buy the 1070.

980 ti would be the better pick out of that, can be overclocked to near 1080 performance. Would highly suggest repasting the card so you can keep it cool while overclocking.

1070 is newer and more energy efficient. performance basically the same depending on how much you game and how long you game for it may possibly save you money in the long run, whether thats enough for the price difference I doubt it, I would try to negotiate the 1070 down, unless the 1070 is new at a store, then the warranty is worth the extra cost.

Only ignorant people consider that site (or any synthetic benchmark sites) reliable.

Your joking right. There's no planet that the 1060 6gb competes with the 980ti. Its not even close.

How much is a 1070 ti? i would prolly target that or get a 980 ti, save money and only lose 2gb of vram. not terrible. Or hit the used market. I would recommend EVGA if used as their warranties are transferable.

Depends on whether or not you OC. If you OC I'd go with 980ti. 980 ti will be a bit faster, cost less, but have less VRAM and have higher power consumption. If you don't OC I'd go with a 1070. 1070 will be a bit faster, have more VRAM, and consume less power, but will cost a bit more.

This is tough, they both perform similarly. 1070 should perform better in VR with SMP enable but that thing is dead.

50 quid is a lot to me, if it not a lot for you then grab that 1070.
