Athlon 200GE and GTX 1050 ti enough for ultra

Noob1337

I know you are laughing from the title but let me explain

i'm building a PC for my friend and i'm in a tight budget.

i usually go for a dell optiplex, upgrade psu and gpu and we are good to go

but this guys wants new

8th gen Intel or ryzen

he doesn't know a lot about computers

but i have two options.

1. Ryzen 2200g with a GTX 1050TI .

2. or an Athlon 200g with a GTX 1060 3gb.

He wants to play Fortnite and BlackOps 4 Blackout which is giving me nightmares.

Ultra in Fortnite, High on BlackOps 4.

which option should i go for?

Thanks.

My GTX 970 gets like 75+ FPS in Fortnite at 1080p ultra settings. A 1050 Ti should get that if you drop down a few settings here and there.

I'd go for option 1, no point of getting an Athlon CPU in 2018.

I see your point

i have a GTX 1050ti with an i7 2600 and things run like butter

but fortnite is not what im afraid of

It's BO4

people with i5 7400 get their CPU's bottlenecked

so i'm scared

Dual Core Athlon 200GE won't cut it in a resource heavy game like Black Ops 4. I wouldn't even consider the Athlon 200GE as being practical for a gaming system at all.

What's the budget for the build? What country? Do you need any peripherals such as monitor, keyboard, etc? I'm inclined to recommend aiming for a Ryzen 2600, but if that's outside the budget then 2200G would be the minimum for any modern gaming PC.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450
