Nvme upgrade useful or worth it for my pc?

Hi there, right now my pc, z420, e5-2670 with gtx 1080 running on a 128gb samsung 850 pro. Can I even get the performance if I upgrade to a NVME? Can I even upgrade to NVME? my motherboard doesn't seem to even have a m.2 socket?

I don't have anything to store tho, just windows 10, microsoft office and overwatch that's all i need. So right now it still has 50gb available and i won't touch the space... So isn't that fine? I have no photos and no movies or anything to store.

I'd just buy another SATA 2.5 inch SSD.

No, then you don't need a PCIe SSD

I would like you to think about that quesiton for one second. No one with a Xeon processor should ever be asking such a question.

I am loving the 970 Evo in my Formula Z390, but tbh the difference in performance IRL between it and my previous 840 Evo SSD is marginal.

that's a very valid statement. Probably a good choice to just wait until i can afford a much newer motherboard and cpu

There are nvme drives that plug in to PCIe. If t's supported or not depends on how old your MB chipset is.

The only time I have ever utilized my NVME SSDs speed is video editing. You DO NOT need one

You wouldn't see much improvement especially if you have a SSD already, as it only decreases loading times, and boot times.
