So, long story short, my motherboard is missing a pin or two, from the innermost ring, the most important pins. So, I need referrals to people/companies who you know to be good at what they do, and can get a new socket put on the board, IE BGA reworking. I would just buy a new board, but, that would cost me about $300-$400, as it is a Rampage V Edition 10, LGA 2011-3, since I can’t afford that, I’m looking into socket replacement, anybody here know a guy who knows a guy?

Well, someone will need a complete set of pins and be willing to solder all of them to the socket. That's not going to be a quick job, which might total more than the board is worth.

I’ve been told it will cost about $100, but have not gotten any referrals to anyone, a new socket assembly will cost me about ten bucks. Since the board will cost me $450 new and $300-$400 used, I’d rather take the socket replacement route if it’s closer to $100 like I’ve been told.

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I can try that route, but I’ve never heard of a company doing such repairs on non warrantied hardware.

As Asus is a manufacturer, and not a repair service, I am doubtful, but I’ll look into it.

I used to work at a repair shop and we wouldnt bother repairing the boards if they had more than 10-20 bent pins. I highly doubt you can find anyone willing to do that by hand.

Hes not looking to get the pins repair, but the whole assembly replaced.

@The Blackhat try reaching out to rossman, hes fixed an Nvidia card before... He may do this

Thanks, I figured someone knew a company or something who did BGA reworking as a specifically offered service, I can’t imagine soldering a BGA socket with 2011 solder points by hand. Thanks, I’ll look in to them.
