8700k Delid overclock

After my delid, it looks like I am able to get to 5.2ghz with 1.46V but it swings to 1.48 which I'm not comfortable outside of benching with (max temp 79). So I am going with 5.1 ghz with 1.43 V with my fans running at ~900 rpm-1100rpm and my cpu cruising around 65 during gaming loads after an hour after an hour of stability testing. Stability test in aida64 CPU, FPU, GPU and cache I saw temps hit 78 for a split second, but by in large stay around 72.

Pretty sure I'm safe to run this 24/7, but has anyone read anything to contrast this voltage being bad for coffee lake? I was under the impression if its under 1.5v, and you're under 80, you're safe for 24/7.

Thanks, 617569577_5.1ghzstressfinished.thumb.JPG.1cb8f4630396f68ad54b0277267f7395.JPG

1.5v is relatively high for everything. I'm at 5.1 @1.29v, you must have a really poor overclocker (your temps are better though cause I'm not delidded). Intel's recommended max is 1.52v, but I wouldn't personally go above 1.4v. You're probably fine at 1.45. Have you tried turning the voltage down? Most people shouldn't need that much to get to 5.1, even if it's not delidded

Yours does better than my 8086K...

I have some severe LLC issues with my board I need to sort though.

Best I was able to do in an afternoon was 5200mhz in my little node 202. Delidded of course.

Funny, I almost bought an 8086K. After seeing this thing OC, I'm glad I didn't. Averages seem to be around 1.34V for 5.1, at least from the videos I've watched. Yeah I went expensive on my board after my X99 platform died (wanna buy a 5820K? lol). 5.2 is still really good for that small of a case. What do you have cooling it?

I have both a delidded 8700k and delidded 8086k. The 8700k was only tested on air cooling, specifically a noctua u12s but an ippc 3000rpm fan attached. It refused to boot at 5.2 for anything. my 8086k, however, acted similarly in preliminary testing before the delid, but has since run solid 5.2GHz at 1.41v -2 AVX offset, 47x cache OC. I currently run it at 1.36v for a 5.1GHz OC (still -2AVX but now 46x cache) under a corsair H115i Pro

Yeah it’s not a silicone lottery winner.

4.9 is stable at 1.3

5.0 is stable at 1.375

5.1 is usable at 1.41 but not stable during long term stressing. So 1.43 ended up being stable 100%

5.2 boots at 1.435, crashes in benches

1.45 will bench but crashes in stability 1.46 passes stability but swings to 1.48 volts during it. Temperatures are fine, so I can use it for performing random benches. Just trying to decide where I want to leave my system at 24/7. Before the delid I left it at 4.8 1.25 V
