Office for Mac 2016 (Home & Business) Retail to VL??

kameshss

Hello all,

Would like some suggestion here on what can be improved for my situation.

So, at my work we use Office for Mac 2016 (Home & Business). We buy these keys in retail, ie., Fully Packaged Product. We use that key to bind it to a mail ID and use it to activate. It's been difficult now a days to track it because so many e-mail IDs for so many product keys. Previously, we used same email ID for many product keys. That would be a pain in the ass. Because, when I try to activate, it will not show any kinda info about which product key it is. It just shows Office for Mac 2016 x how many keys we binded with it.

To eliminate this, let me know if this will work.

Put that retail key (FPP) on our VL server (VAMT 3.1), and activate the office through VL Serializer (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/mac/volume-license-serializer). Will this work? Activate it before opening up the office? Let me know if this will work or if it doesn't, suggest me an idea here.

Thanks,

Kamesh.
