I'm a fan of larger, higher resolution monitors; especially for general productivity and editing software.

A word of warning. That may or may not work on new hardware.

Although there are workarounds, Microsoft is just making things difficult for Windows 7 on newer hardware. :(

In my experience, Windows 7 fails to install with a ACPI error.  This happened to me on a 2200g + A320 combo for a friend and no amount of tweaking the bios or trying different installers would let Windows 7 install on that setup.  Was forced to use Windows 8.1 on it.

Also, why bother with a Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrade when you can straight up do a clean install on Windows 10 without having to have to install Windows 7 first?

Besides as of Windows 10 (1709), a Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 key is still accepted for activation.

I'm a little confused, so you can install Windows 10 with a 7 key? I don't think what I think is right but I'm curious.

I download windows 10 pro and use the windows 7 key code to activate, it worked so far.

Anyway I'm down to my last 13 codes and I usually only give them to customers that can't afford to buy the codes for free.

The post was not stupid. In fact assuming that a driver base written before a motherboard was even designed would work without issue strikes me as overly optimistic.

I guess. I meant I thought it was silly that windows 7 won't work, unless you already understood that which I assume you did. It makes sense and I think it's silly because I was hoping to move a copy of 7 over on to a new build then upgrade to 10. I'm sure I can get an oem copy of 10 or something
