  1. I guess this is appropriate here: EDIT: Not mine. Just found it in Reddit. LOL
  2. Might want to edit your first post and include vital information like hard drive, power supply, cooling, etc., etc. Those would factor in on what people here will recommend. Also what games are you planning?
  3. Except for minecraft most of the games are esports titles. Both GPUs will be okay performance-wise on those games.
  4. Yes. This is why Tech Jesus is using Human Malware to refer to COVID-19.
  5. Use the Cheap Dell Gaminc PC guides floating all over the net minus the video card. Spend the money for the video card on hard drive instead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxHiwq7QqJc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8BIWIPBt18
  6. Depends on how much you're willing to spend. If your parents already have a monitor and other peripherals already you might want to go with the Dell Optiplex Gaming PC route. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxHiwq7QqJc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8BIWIPBt18
  7. Depends on what you're using it for. Gaming? Web browsing PC for mom and pop with some Office applications in the side? As is. The power supply needs an upgrade. You can also add an additional stick of 8GB of RAM to make use of dual channel. Also an SSD.
  8. When was the last time he was using it? Could just be a simple fix like maybe a reset of the BIOS or cleaning the RAM slots & contacts. It's still pretty much capable of browsing the web and Excel. Although you might need to make key upgrades like an SSD and at least 8GB or even more.
  9. They usually are. Have you tried in Lazada or Shopee for Xeons? IIRC some are sold there but the pricing might not be to your liking. Some performance numbers for a 3770K in 2019:
  10. If you still have a Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 key, Windows 10 will still accept it for activation last I checked. So you may not have to spend money on an O.S.
  11. No need to burn to a DVD. Since at least Windows 7, Microsoft has perfected USB installations for it's O.S. So download the ISO and create a bootable USB installer of Windows 10. You can also just download the Windows 10 ISO and use the Windows USB/DVD Tool that was released in the Windows 7 era to create the same bootable USB installer for Windows 10. The tool still works with Windows 10 ISOs by the way. Link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool Also another thing you might want to know, the Windows 10 installer will activate with a
  12. TBH the gameplay changes were the more interesting part of this update: "[ GAMEPLAY ]– Increased price of SG553 to $3000 to bring its price more in line with its value.– Reduced the price of FAMAS and Galil by $200 (to $2050 and $1800, respectively)– Improved full-auto spraying accuracy of FAMAS and Galil." Source: https://blog.counter-strike.net/index.php/category/updates/ So FAMAS and Galil meta incoming?
  13. If you're going to upgrade it in the future especially with that B450 board, why would the thermal paste vs. soldered argument matter? Also IIRC the whole thermal paste vs. soldered argument was only relevant if you were overlocking. That's weird pricing on the RAM. Shouldn't it be cheaper since it's a smaller capacity stick? Although now that you mention it, dual channel might not be of much use for office work.
  14. Your 1050Ti is above the minimum requirements of DW9 (https://store.steampowered.com/app/730310/DYNASTY_WARRIORS_9/), DMC5 (https://store.steampowered.com/app/601150/Devil_May_Cry_5/), Batman: The Enemy Within - The Telltale Series (https://store.steampowered.com/app/675260/Batman_The_Enemy_Within__The_Telltale_Series/) so what other games are you playing that would warrant a GPU upgrade? Seems like upgrading from a 1050Ti to a higher card is just for the sake of upgrading IMHO.
  15. If it's just an Office PC why not go with a Ryzen 2200G or 2400G or even an Athlon APU (200-series) combo-ed with an A320-based mobo? Seems overkill to go with latest gen Ryzen and a B450 board. Also make the RAM 2x4GB to make use of dual-channel.
  16. Not to mention that he's not even using a K processor. IMHO paying for overclocking features that you can't use seems like a waste of $$$.
  17. It could also be a BIOS update is needed in order for the Corsair sticks to work.
  18. Yes. Install Windows 10 and use your Windows 7 product key when asked for one. Still works as of build 1809 of Windows 10. Basically the Windows 10 installer will accept a Windows 8.1 or 7 key for activation.
