RTX 2080 + i7 8700K

CuadraXP

Hi.. this is my first post here and I'm hoping you can give me your opinion in this build.

I live in Chile, where I'm going to buy Case, Cooler and PSU. I already own Monitor + Keyboard + Mouse + Headset

I have a friend than can buy CPU+Ram+MB+GPU on USA (Amazon) during black friday / cibermonday.

What do you think?? Thanks!

Honestly the only thing I could think of is that you might be able to get away with a less expensive z370 board but the z390 board you picked isn't that expensive.

I would 100% change the monitor to something like this one
https://www.amazon.com/PG279Q-2560x1440-G-SYNC-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B017EVR2VM/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1540491417&sr=1-1&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin%3A6570749011

That is the Asus 27" 1440 165hz Gsync monitor and it is about the same price as the one you picked. The refresh is 5ms instead of 1ms, but it is an IPS panel so you will have much better viewing angles and color accuracy.

The components look really good overall. Strong specs.

My only recommendation is to change your monitor to Acer or ASUS, or even Dell if they have g-sync option. I would avoid HP products.

Not enough storage.  Drop to 860 EVO 1tb, 2.5 or M.2 either or.

I balk at over $200 for a motherboard, personally.

I'd get a Razer mouse to coordinate all 3 components.

All that said, very solid build.  Only tweaks are personal preference.  Not going to get into RTX vs GTX< by now folks know what they want and why.

Thanks.. I already own a 500 GB SSD from my notebook (Asus g750JX) that I will continue to use..

Also de 1080 ti is an option over de 2080.. I'm waiting to see the prices at blackfriday to make a final decision.

Grab a nice 2 or 3 TB HDD for mass storage then too.  You'll fill up 500GB in no time.

The X62 pump housing is < 53mm tall. The radiator with push or pull fans is (2 x 140mm) 315mm x 143mm x 55mm.

So if I get you right it won't fit?

I was looking at pcpartpicker and there are some builds with kraken x62 + NZXT s340elite + gtx 1080 ti (325 mm) and the fit..

It would be a very tight fit. 381mm gpu clearance less 55mm radiator and fans = 326mm. 1mm shorter than MSI RTX 2080 Ti length of 327mm.

You could change to an Evga RTX 2080 Ti. They are typically around 280mm long.
