Iron Man Suit Technology

Msuni

How far away would you say we are from the technology needed to make a real Iron Man suit?

Not too far away. Our current problem is funding. If someone like Elon Musk decided that he wants real Iron Man suit, he would need 3-5 years. One problem would be flying, its not possible from aerodynamic standpoint.

Here is a good example of North Korean guy with some spare change who decided that he wants a mech from Cameron's "Avatar".

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus ROG Strix B650E / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Powercolor RX 7900 XTX Red Devil/ EVGA 750W GQ / NZXT H5 Flow

Elon Musk

He is an odd character, but I did read some news on him, however I can't watch him or hear him talk, so odd.

Smoking a fake doobie on Joe Rogan

and talk of going public which is influencing the market which is a big no no, again so odd.

I recall a few years back Obama said the US government was working on a suit. Most likely at Area 51 if I had to guess. I highly doubt they will broadcast when they have a working suit.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Well, just armored suit with guns, I wouldn't think it's too far off if it doesn't exist already, but the whole "giant suit unfolding from nothing" I kind of doubt.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
        In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
        In Flanders fields.

Cry havoc and let slip the Togs of war.  (Signature V3)

The U.S. Armed Forces have exoskeleton suits that can be used to help a soldier carry heavy loads with more ease, retrofitting weaponry and armor plating onto those theoretically wouldn't be too hard. Plus the suit would carry all the weight, too.

I highly doubt we'll see an exact replica of an Iron Man suit in my lifetime.

How long do you plan on living?

At least to the average lifespan of a human being.

Hmm, 79 years doesn't sound to unreasonable.

Pretty far away.

We simply do not have a power source good enough to power something like that for very long. Batteries aren't there yet (nor are any other energy delivering technology.)

If you want to keep it plugged in, then go ahead. But then it's pretty useless no?

Plus, it'll never fly. Not like it does in the movie at least. Nor will it be superpowered. And it'll likely be finicky as hell.
