How to pre download YouTube videos

MrCupHolder

Got a question, not sure if this is the best place for it. Feel free to move it if necessary.

Is it possible to automatically download a youtube video for a channel you're subscribed to as soon as it becomes available to watch later?

I've tried searching for the answer to this question and either my google fu is failing or it's not possible.

Results of my searching so far are to either create a caching server which will download on first watch and keep for future rewatching or apps that will allow you to download but you have to kick it off manually, neither of which actually solves my problem. I did also find there was a YouTube app but that was for Windows 10 but I'm on Windows 8.1

Does YouTube still have channel RSS feeds?  This use to work...

Just replace the "xxxx" with the name of the YouTube user and you have an RSS feed with the latest uploads, ready to add to whatever podcast manager or feed reader you use. As long as your feed reader can understand video, or your podcast catcher accepts RSS.
