Threadripper mining.

I have built a new rig and I've heard of mining Monero with threadripper because it takes advantage of the thread count. I've tried following a couple tutorials but when I try to download the required programs they all seem to be polluted with malware, spyware, PUP's, ransomware,  or some kind of corruption  that MalewareBytes won't let me download. Any suggestions that might help me get up and running would be fantastic. Thanks.

very unprofitable (I remember it's running multiple years just to pay for the CPU itself?), not recommended.
