Posted October 12, 2018 Hello I need help with my new build, i built a pc and after installing windows on 250gb samsung 970 nvme I installed my hard-drive after (safely of course) and I cant see the harddrive as anything. I have an optane memory nvme that i was planning to use to speed up the hard-drive but the optane memory is unallocated and the 5tb hard-drive doesn't seem to even be sensed by the hard-drive. I need some help please I have the optane in the topmost slot and the 970 in the slot under it. Spec sheet: Nzxt h700i aio h100i v2 mobo aorus gaming 7 cpu i7 8700k ram 32gb rgb g.skill samsung 970 evo 250gb Toshiba X300 5TB (HDWE150XZSTA) also if you could help me the right way to see a good video or something to speed up my hdd that would be great thanks. :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options... Posted October 12, 2018 A new disk needs to be initialized before the OS can see it. Go to diskmgmt.msc and initialize the disk, then format it as NTFS and make sure it has a drive letter. If it's not in disk management either, then it's not connected properly or defective. Some SATA ports may become disabled when using m.2 drives, so check your manual to see if that's the problem here.
