Which is better?

A friend is in need of a PC, which of these builds is better: Intel or AMD?  If you have any improvements or changes you think should be made then let me know, the 212 EVO is unavailable in the UK without paying double it's normal price.

I would personally go Intel because I would make more use of the higher single core performance which will also give you better fps in 95% of games.

Personally I prefer Intel. And as @ said it will perform better.

I think what AMD has going for it is their low budget builds with APU's and such.

That's what I thought as well, I wasn't sure if 8 cores would be better for upcoming games that are using more cores though.  I prefer Intel motherboard a lot more than AMD ones.

The performance increase you would receive from using Intel over AMD is negligible for the price. If you want the extra 5 FPS, get an Intel that is $100 more than an AMD.

I think Intel have much better motherboards than AMD, that was another reason for going with the Intel build over AMD.

the 8 cores do benefit, but then again the Haswell IPC is so much bigger than FX that it overpowers it. so get intel

Yes, upcoming games are starting to use more than 4 cores when they're available, but this is only in the most recent titles, while the list will grow over time, it's not worth sacrificing single core performance for.

still, intel can substitute less cores by just having them that much faster per clock. so one intel core doing 2 threads is about equal to 2 8350 cores doing 2 threads

It was being sold for £25 and £10 postage but Amazon now have it in stock for £26 and free postage, they weren't selling it themselves yesterday.
