Hi,

I am in need of a home office sever components list or build for our software.  We will need to run our construction software on it to hold the SQL databases.  We will need to.remote in from a surface pro and laptop and need access to it onsite via an iMac and pc.

What low cost options do I have for entry level, that can be scaled up at a later date.

A free older computer would be about as low cost as you can get. Your tasks aren't cpu or gpu or ram heavy so technically you could use an older machine for a considerably long time if all you're doing is accessing files remotely with the only concern being keeping the software up to date and compatible.

What contruction software are we talking? How big are the SQL databases? SQL needs a lot of IOPS and likes a good amount of RAM.

Also, do you need more than one simultaneous remote desktop session or not? Because that'd require additional licensing.

Any other tasks worth mentioning?

Why don't you just rent it, a full system can go as low as $15 a month.

No hassle setup.

Ok,

So one program is construction suite and the other is sage estimating.

My iMac, well is an imac.  A surface pro, and top of the line Dell laptop.  The desktop is a x99 with 128 GB, 6950x CPU and titan xp, with 1tb m.2.
