Used 1080Ti w/ 3yr warranty

I won this bid on ebay with 30 bidders for a GeForce 1080 ti for $538.00. I owner used it for mining, bought November 2017. He mentioned he kept it well ventilated and kept @ 60 degrees. It still has warranty from NVIDIA. What do you guys think? If I save enough money I might be able to save for a really good monitor (Predator x34)

@OnyxArmos While I agree with you 100%, is there a certain limitation? like 8 times out of 10, that it's still good? please understand that I'm not trying to argue with you.

There been times where a 'mining card' still shows strength as if was a new card. It all depends on how it was taken care of.  It doesn't sound to bad

@Fuzz_Ball.. Thank you! Since it's just my second build, I think it's better if I just buy a 1080 or maybe even a 1080ti. I'm prolly gonna have to sacrifice one monitor though. Is it even worth it? Or is 1080 good enough? I'm trying to build an upgradable gaming/streaming pc for $2,500.

You're out of warranty.  This one seems pretty simple... bad luck.

If it was kept at 60C, chances are high that the card wasn't even hammered hard and may have likely been undervolted. 

Sounds like a decent deal.

Decent deal. Not outstanding, but not bad. I think you can usually find similar deals, if not better on Reddit.

I don't believe Nvidia warranty's are transferable.

If the card was taken care of, it's not so bad. One could say it's better than a card used for extensive gaming. Consistent temperatures are less damaging then repeated cycles of low to high.

What is the sellers rating, and reviews - that will help to determine your outcome as well

I recently got a LeadTek GTX1080, I know it was used as a mining card (the seller's house was full of mining rigs), but the card I'd gotten was about 6 months old at the time, and still had about 18 months of warranty left. I figured it was a safe bet and got it, handling many games at 4K at pretty good ingame video setting so I can't complain.

I doubt that there would still be a warranty on an ex mining card.

 

Ex mining cards are normally very well taken care of as they run stable loads, not the kind of loads you would see while gaming, meaning they didn't wear out as much as they would while gaming.

 

These cards get undervolted and kept at steady temperatures making them perfectly fine cards, sometimes better than ex gaming/workstation cards.
