File increases in size when uploading to LTT

Skanky Sylveon

Should be self explanatory.  I made a dumb GIF, said GIF reads 13.9 MB on my machine.  When I upload it here and then download it, the size increases to 20.5 MB.

Yes i also noticed this bug long ago

the site is attempting to compress the gif , but essentially the sites compression method isn't very good at all and ends up making it bigger

If I might add, copying and pasting imaging has been met with interesting results.

This pic was 1.49MB and it washes out quite a bit.

Works fine when attached normally.

It doesn't do it every time.  In fact I've never noticed it happening but it does do it on occasion.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

@givingtnt @Densetsu @Ryan_Vickers

I suppose I should attach the unaltered version of my GIF.

As you can see, 13.9 MB.

Again, this is a GIF that I created, and I had to compress it rather heavily.

So that would make sense, if the forums are trying to re compress it.
