So I have the default ISP router that is given me by AT&T and it works fine and all but whenever everyone is home it pretty laggy for me for online games. I have a power line to connect to ethernet for my PC and Xbox since my router is in the other room. I was wondering if I were to buy a router like a nighthawk would I improve in speed

What speed do you have going to your house?

You can get qos on a better router, but your probably better off buying a faster plan from your isp.

I literally get 13.1 Mbsps and 1.07 Upload on Speedtest by ookla it says i have 16.88 down and 1.73 up

no, unless you have more than 5-10 people online at the same time.

expensive router no use.

speeds are dictated by a your ISP, internet / network card, type of wire, and lastly your router. you might get better speeds but if your plan has a speed cap say 15 mbps even with a top end router that will be the max you can get in perfect condensations.

if at first you don't break it you must have followed the directions

What internet plan do you currently pay for from AT&T? Buying a better router will only help if your plan can offer those speeds.

Your kinda screwed. Judging buy those speeds your probably on the 18 Mbps plan. Depending on your area that might be the best AT&T can do. You might want to look at better ISP's. Such as a Cable Co, as they would be able to offer better packages.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
