Need help choosing motherbaord

6 minutes ago, HiGuyz said:

I looked everywhere and done losts of research but as a newbie i have no idea which motherbaord to pick(it cant be the on the current list as not enough sata) https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/sfQwCb

Planming to get optane and more m.2 and Large archive drives

all motherboards will only have a specific ammount of SATA.. your not going to be able to find motherboards with 8 SATA slots.. i believe you can buy lots of diffrent types of expansion cards which give you 2, 4, 6, 8 e.t.c SATAs

what is the exact number of SATA ports you need? there are lots of expansion cards, or maybe even RAID controllers that could help you get more drives in your system.

There are motherboards with 8 sata, you can filter for it on PCpartpicker

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

if you have a good price on it, that's awesome. Just not much more performance over 8700k

an 8086k is not a binned 8700k. It's a different chip. You can buy binned 8086k chips at 5.3ghz for like 700-800 dollars though.
