1080 ti vs 2080, RX 580 vs GTX 1060

I think there's a new version of "should I get the 1060 or the 580?" Granted, that first question seems to be one sided. Maybe there should be an FAQ pinned thread in graphics card subforum people can share the link to when these questions are asked. I know the market is very fluid so these questions don't remain relevant forever, but that's what edits are for anyway.

 

EDIT: this is not a discussion about which graphics card to get. This thread is about sharing those discussions with others. I already know that by and large, the 1080ti is better value than 2080, and 580 basically = 1060

i'd say personally get the 1080ti because it's faster and it has more memory, get the 2080 if you can find one for the same price as a decent 1080ti...i doubt you can, if you can buy a slightly used 1080ti i'd do that because right now a decent 1080ti is a fair bit faster:

guys I know what the better buy is, but my point is that so many people have asked the question, it would be nice to link them to a preexisting discussion

in canada 2080 are 1100$, I got a used 1080ti for 715$ and seeing that in gaming they perform they basically perform the same im hecking happy, go used
