Hi guys,

Im building the first computer that im actually going to keep for the first time in about 2 weeks. I was wondering on your opinions about the components. I am getting a Maximus vi formula motherboard, on that there will be a 4770K and 16 GB of 1600 memory and a gtx 545 until my 780 arrives in a few months. For storage i am using a 120 gb samsung evo and a 1tb external drive with a internal 1tb Velociraptor drive. This will be powered by a CX500M. All of this will be inside a Fractal Define R4 windowed case. This rig will be used for work, video editing and gaming.

Thanks for reading this thread, please comment :)

here are my opinions:

Brunette girls are hotter, red heads even more.

Pepsi is better than cola.

Lasagna over pizza

PS4 over Xbox, but PC is master.

No but on topic.

If oyu have the money, go for it. otherwise save some money.

Red heads are hot, but they're all psychos.

Truth.

YES.

PS4's hardware + Xbox's controller. The PS4 controller isn't friendly ergonomically. But Sony's like Porsche and refuses to admit that it there isn't a better design.

Sounds solid.

Why is it going to take a few months for a GTX 780 to arrive? Where do you live? North pole?

hahaha i know what you mean, it does seem ridiculous, but i know someone who knows someone kind of thing thats getting me a lot off the retail price somehow, the caveat is that i have to wait a while for it to arrive. Which im happy to do being as im paying around 50% retail...

A better quality and slightly larger psu would be a better fit for this build.

Have you considered a larger SSD. Perhaps instead of the Velociraptor an SSHD would do. The difference would allow for doubling the size of the SSD.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Maybe one of those WD dual drives?

Not worth it.

I wouldn't use a velociraptor if I got it for free. They're loud as hell and not worth the money.
