What kind of hard drive port is this?

Lethal Squirrel

The drive is a Seagate Cheetah NS 10,000 RPM 400GB hard drive.

I bought this hard drive because I seen that it was 10K RPM and it was extremely cheap at only $25 with free shipping.

I have never seen a port like this. Iv'e been researching on the internet and have no idea what it is. The person I got it from on eBay says it's a SAS cable but it doesn't look like it at all.

This almost looks like some proprietary cable.

Hopefully somebody can help me find out what this is and if it can be adapted to sata or not.

So is this drive basically useless for a normal computer? Are there any adapters out there that will let me connect this to data or something?

Cool Thanks guys!

It kind of looks like number 1 to me.

No way is it Centronics!

Model number is ST3400755FC

FC = Fiber Channel, I have a couple 4U's full of them up in storage.

@Lethal Squirrel

You basically bought a paper weight, unless you have all the necessary equipment to use such a Fiber Channel drive, and don't get me wrong I doubt you have it since you don't even know what the connector was. That drive is old tech and someone might need it if they still have a few shelves of Fiber Channel disk racks but realistically most people have dumped it, as SAS and even SATA storage has prevailed due to modern advancements and software (aka ZFS).

Details on it are here: http://www.seagate.com/staticfiles/support/disc/manuals/enterprise/cheetah/NS/FC/100457516b.pdf

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.
