I'd assume one that works.

No but really, there's different kinds, smaller ones, wider ones, re-adjustable ones, mechanical, casual.

The "best" for typing is just one that suits your hands. I type really well on a basic keyboard. Mechanical keyboards give me too much feedback for the speed I type at. I type at roughly 80-85? Which isn't the bed but it's definitely above average. Just get one that suits your needs my man.

The only "best" one is the one that feels most comfortable for you.

I have couple high tech ones but for programming i am surprisingly impressed by the simple Microsoft Wired 600. The key positions for my fingers is great. And price is just impressive for the quality for long work hours.

Easily better for coding than my Logitech G19, Logitech G513, Coolmaster MS120 and Razor Chroma. For gaming that keyboard is total garbage for me.

Used to have a Dell workstation "something" keyboard before but this one and it's been around 2 years i believe that i am running with this one and it's great. They often have them in retail store like best buy. Worth going and see the feeling when using it. Trying many is the best solution here anyway. I have the chance to have many models available around me (colleague, friends, stores). I keep testing here and there until i find the perfect one for me (which probably doesn't exist yet)

But that's the point, what he finds comfortable you may not. If you're doing a lot of writing, something with a good palm rest and maybe a split/ergonomic keyboard layout? So steer clear of all those chunky, short mechanical gaming keyboards really.

Personally, the oldies are the goodies for me, I like the micro soft 4000.

I've only used a couple of keyboards, one was the razor and the other which I currently have is the corsair cherry mx. i realized I like mechanical keyboards, my preference for them is because I like the clicking feel. There are bonuses to it being a gaming keyboard as well as the RGB effects, but I think you can accomplish the same level with another mechanical keyboard not as high end. I will say, my one regret is that it does look a little baren with the keys out there, but I can remove them and actually clean under them, which means fixing any jams are just so much easier.
