GTX 760 in PCI Express 2.0?

I know the 760 'Supports PCI Express 3.0' but will it work in PCI-E 2.0, does it even utilize all of the 2.0 bandwidth. Some people say it's fine, where as others say it wouldn't work, but I personally don't think the 760 will even go over the bandwidth the 2.0 slot offers but I'd rather have it confirmed before I spend my money on something I couldn't use.

Motherboard (only thing relevant?): MSI  760GM-P33

Hopefully be upgrading soon, would rather buy a graphics card rather then a new motherboard first.

Thanks for help!! :D

Soo many games, not enough money to get any.

Yay, that's a relief, don't have to fork out another £100 on a new motherboard!

Most of the time, with computers these days, if it fits, it'll work.

This goes for all SATA revisions, PCIe, USB and DDR3. It'll all work.

Most (99%) of the time.

Some people just go "Oh, it says PCI-E 3.0, so OBVIOUSLY it won't work in PCI-E 2.0" or something like that like.

I thought it would work on 2.0 but wasnt a 100% sure as on google, no one gave a clear answer.

Yeah  I had the same question a few months back. I actually just ordered a Gigabyte GTX760 today.
