Is this the technology that will give us Hooverboards by 2015?

I saw this and thought that it is a very cool technology, it doesn't seem to be all that useful though in terms of what it can actually levitate, for now anyway.

I'm one of the few people I know that tend to repair electronics with a smith's hammer on a regular basis.

We could have made hoverboards a long time ago using magnetic stuff, but that would also require an infrastructure.

WHY DIDN'T THEY GIVE US HOVERBOARDS?!

Evil people.

I always thought lodestones were the magic ones, and magnets are just minerals that happen to have all their electrons spinning in the same direction or something.

hover boards will never exist using this technology. The spl that you would need to lift something like a person would be deadly. Its cool, but nowhere near practical
