HDD Clicking only during boot. Do I need to change it now?

Hi! My 1Tb hard drive has been clicking during boot for a few weeks, but it never continues past the BIOS. The drive is still detected and works fine, should I still change my hard drive rn, or is it fine for a while? I don't want to loosemy data but I'm broke rn, so other things are a priority

If you don't need it at the moment just unplug it's power as most likely that the clicking IS a damaged head (watch the most recent video on the main YouTube channel for more information) 

 

If you don't use the drive often (like a secondary drive) then you can just leave it there not connected with your psu

I do need it, unfortunately most of my programs are on it. I'll just make sure to back up all my sensitive data from it, and should try to get a new one around Christmas

Check with crystaldiskinfo.

It's probably OK but always back up your data.
