Did my USB Stick just die on me??

LambdaCat

I was loading an ISO image onto my USB stick and turning it into a boot drive when Rufus (the boot imaging software) crashed, after plugging it back in again to format it and try again its now claiming that write protection is on, I can't seem to access it at all now and the only help I fo0und online was a thread from 2013 telling me to replace it, anyone got any pointers as to what happened and how to go about it?

Yes probably dead.

But anyway, lets try. Plug it in, open CMD, type diskpart, type list disk, is it there? select it. (select disk X) type clean.

If completes, go into Disk Management (run diskmgmt.msc) initialise it, put a volume on it, try it again.

No? Trash.

Probably gaming or helping technophobes with tech...
