Chromecast to Extend PC display

I have found out that you can cast your entire desktop thru Chromecast. I found older articles (2017 and older) that shows how to make the casted display be an extended display of the one hooked up to the pc. It seems with the creators update (thanks MS) that they removed the one thing needed to be able to set it up. I know that the latency is horrible but I would be using it for say playing Pandora while coding or working on other homework to take advantage of the speakers without buying a long HDMI cable. If anyone has came across a way to make it work since the April 2018 creators update your help would be much appreciated!
