intel 760p series 256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD vs Western Digital WD Green 240GB 3D NAND SSD

Chriszzz

So im buying a SSD for storage for games such as player unknown battlegrounds etc. I have one SSD 120gb only for my OS.

I know that the intel 760p m.2 nvme 256gb has a read speed of 3210mbs and a write speed of 1315mbs whereas WD green SSD has 545mbs read speed.

I clearly don't know which one to get or is it noticeable difference between these ssd when it comes to speed and increase performance when playing games on them. I have my games on a Seagate Barracuda 1TB  Internal Hard Drive  (ST1000DM010) seems like my friend loads pubg faster on a ssd than me on on a HD.

the price difference is huge is it worth it? to go for the expensive one? intel 760p series m.2 nvme.

vs

Price:

Intel 760p Series (SSDPEKKW256G8XT) 256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD (Solid State Drive) = $115 AUD

Western Digital WD Green 240GB 2.5" 3D NAND SSD = $ 66 AUD

Can't compare speed like that, you need iops and to know how those number are made and at what queue depth. The real world speed difference is like 5% in load time normally.

For games, id just get something like a mx500.

Or if you want a bit faster for a bit more money get a intel 660p.

the mx500 is a good amount faster due to the dram butter and doesn't cost much more.

Id get a 500gb ssd though, there normally faster and not much more money.
