  1. 1. Which case should i get

    • DIYPC
      1
    • Thermaltake
      2

I am building a new computer in my college dorm. i got a gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H off ebay. I have found 2 cheap cases the first one is from DIYPC and the other Thermaltake. I have a refrence gtx 770 so a green theme would be nice. but i always see diypc going for cheap prices so their quality seems to be unknown. has anyone used these cases?

I've never heard of DIYPC and the reviews seem to be a little mixed, but I think it looks pretty cool, so I don't think there's much I can say.

What I do know is buying a cheap $40-50 case the first time around was the biggest mistake I made in my computer. I think it was thermaltake but I have no clue, so I'd keep that in mind.

That thermaltake case does not appear to have airflow

the thermal take case has side vents fro the front and a bottom opening that is pretty big. I am planing to put 3 rgb or green fans in the front

Not a fan of either, but at least the DIY case isn't suffocating for air.

It is actually

That front panel is Tempered glass supposedly

The thermaltake case has "some?" Vents on the side? They look a bit restrictive though, mainly the dust filter

If you want a green PC, try this

I mean, any of those cases will work fine, but if you ever want to upgrade the system without changing your case, you'll be suffering from poor airflow not being able to adequately cool higher end hardware than what you're currently using, which is why I recommended the case I did, which would survive multiple upgrades

Side vents aren't going to be as good as a mesh front with direct airflow.
