Storage configuration for editing

TalElmishali

Hi,

starting to work on building new pc.

wanted to get some opinions about the storage configuration.

Main use going to be editing and general use. (Really rare use of P3D)

So I wanted to buy

1. Samsung 960 evo m2 nvme 1tb - cache,footage. (Spent $50 more for the 970?)

2. Seagate Barracuda pro 7200 4tb  - mass storage for exporting and storage for footage when projects complete (other ones recommended?)

3. (Own it from old pc already) Samsung 840 evo 250gb os,programs

Please let me know what you think. I’m not going to run it in any raid mode.

and im welling to buy one more ssd for os,programs.

Thanks

You are welcome! And yes, I don't see anything wrong with migrating to an HDD. Actually, I would recommend you to do so, prices and market is now different than what it was before, so using a big HDD as your storage device and one SSD for your OS seems to be the way to go. Regarding the external department, we have some options under the tabs EMPower, Backup & Explore and Play in our website, it all depends on what you are looking for since some options are for gamers, some other for desktops, other ones for MAC, other stylish... I'll leave the link below, check them out and let me now if you need any more help:

That sounds reasonably.

Though you'd want another 4TB Drive for Backup. THAT is what you forgot. But the rest sounds good.
