Correct use of ASUS CPU installation tool

I am installing an intel 8086K into a ASUS Maximus X Formula motherboard.

On page 2-1, the motherboard manual says to use the included CPU installation tool to install the CPU. The tool is a black plastic frame, and the motherboard manual says to install the CPU into the installation tool with the top of the CPU facing the tool and the bottom of the CPU facing outward. This would require puting force on some part of the bottom of the CPU. Based on the subsequent pictures, I am expected to have this CPU installation tool fit inside the metal motherboard CPU bracket, meaning I don't have any choice in whether or not to use the tool. How can I safely touch the CPU to install it into the installation tool?

It just works like any other installation, keep the black plastic tab on, put in your CPU appropriately, and the black tab will automatically slide out once you've secured the CPU onto the socket.

It's in the socket currently, when you open it it'll pop out.

Please see the motherboard manual. ASUS includes a black frame (the "installation tool") that is a separate piece from the CPU socket cover. I have never seen such a tool in any video from ltt or anyone else for that matter. However, the motherboard manual seems to suggest it is mandatory. However stupid this tool may be, if it is mandatory, the last thing I need is for the CPU to be loose or incorrectly installed because I didn't use it.

Thank you everyone for your replies. This stupid CPU installation tool appears to be optional, and it simply adds confusion to a build. I am going to go ahead and install my 8086K without the CPU installation tool.

The CPU seems to be correctly installed. I wish tutorials would prepare you for the sickly creaking sound that occurs while you do this however.

the installation tool is quite useful if you delid your CPU and dont want to reseal it though. Im using it
