CS:GO Multicore Rendering question?

ManOfDisguise

Should I leave Multicore Rendering on or off in the graphical settings? I want as much FPS as possible. Im using a FX 8350 @ stock(4ghz) and a Gigabyte GTX 770 2GB OCed (+60 mhz on core clock and +400 on memory clock)

Specs of my PC:

CPU: AMD FX 8350  Motherboard: Gigabyte 990XA UD3  GPU: Gigabyte GTX 770 Windforce 2GB  HDD: WD Green 2TB SSD:  Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD RAM: Corsair 8GB(2X4) PSU: CoolerMaster G650M

i would be surprised if disabling multicore would increase FPS unless its and very out dated engine which it isnt

unless u have a screen capable to handle FPS above 60 frames u WONT notice a thing

please dont be one of those people that say

LOOK AT ME  ITS 364 FPS IM BEAST

i have a 144hz monitor. also it has a notification in the settings that disabling multicore rendering increases performance :o. but wouldnt enabling it increase performance? more cores used=more performance no?

Just enable it and see what happens instead of asking about it.

depending on the CPU it will either increase or decrease performance, in your case I believe leaving it on is better, test it out with fraps.

Probably they were referring to single threaded games getting a performance boost from the turbo clocks settings on CPUs.

What benefits do you get for maxing out your fps? The your card should already be substantially past your monitors capable refresh rate.

No it is nowhere near substantially over it. Which is weird i was expecting to havr around 200fps average. And the card is OC pretty much as far as it can be while its stable. I got 50.3 fps and 2103 score in Valley. I blame Valve

try uninstalling and reinstalling your driver.

I do not see this being Valve's fault as I get those numbers in high setting with AA on a much inferior card. And at a slightly lower resolution I get between 90-130fps.

CS:GO is basic game that is not demanding at all.

its really weird because i just tried moh warfighter campaign maexd out and im getting nice fps(like 60 MINIMUM and around 80 average id say and maxing out at low 100s) hmmm

If I remember correctly what I have read up about that setting in the past is that teh source engine has differently optimized code for running on highly parallel and less parallel CPUs. So if you only have a dual core you want to leave that disabled. But with an 8 core obviously you want to leave it enabled.

That's sounds ridiculous for a 770, what's your framerate?

its above 100 in csgo pretty much all the times but sometimes it drops all the way down to 60 which is just unplayable.

First, regardless of your high refresh rate monitor, 60fps is not unplayable, it just shouldnt get that low on your card. The min fps on GO for that card should be atleast 100-200 fps more than your current minimum.

Does the GO forum hint at anything like this being widespread with that gpu? Currently I am thinking it's not valve.

it IS unplayable on a 144hz monitor at least. its like playing with 25 fps on a 60hz monitor. its just so laggy it really is unplayable.but i mean moh warfighter, bf3 and other games did pretty well with the card so maybe it might be CS:GO not getting along with my Overclock?

Just make sure your GPU / CPU are not throttling under load due to temperatures etc...

Use MSI aferburner to see how much % is CS GO using your gpu, if not fully then try putting most of the stuff at max.

AMD Radeon 7870 Gigabyte OC / Intel i5 3570k / ASrock Z77 Pro4 /Samsung 840 EVO 250GB / WD Blue 500GB 7200rpm / Kingston HyperX T1 2x4GB 1600mhz / SeaSonic 520w M12 / Thermaltake v4 Black
