i dont know what case i want lol
Any thoughts would be appreciated

i personally think the Meshify C is better. way better airflow and looks sleek. the h700 is an overpriced metal box with no airflow whatsoever.

Meshify C most definitel. But let me throw in this case which is the exact same size as the H700 with better airflow. The Phanteks Enthoo Pro M / Special Edition can be seen here: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811854042 SE comes with RGB fans :) This is a fantastic case and is never mentioned because of crappier cases by NZXT and what not, H700 is decent though, nothing special.

Best & worst cases for your money in 2018 are:

Best Cases overall

I) Fractal Design Meshify C - Airflow and relatively quiet, best all around case

I) Phanteks Enthoo Pro M / Special Edition (white interior) - Airflow & full water cooling support

I) Fractal Define R6 - Silent with decent airflow

I) Be Quiet! DB 900 (Full Tower) - Airflow and silent

I) Fractal Design Meshify C mini (mATX)

I) Corsair 400C - Only use with low end components, no 1080 / TI

I) Phanteks 350X - Only use with low end components, no 1080 / TI

I) Fractal Design Focus G

Cases that may be worth your money

I) Thermaltake G21 - GPU and CPU cooling issues, modest tweaking
I) Silverstone RL06 / Pro - Mustard/Ketchup wires, Shitty cable management, Poor front radiator support, useless psu filter, stupid ssd layout
I) In Win 303

I) Coolermaster H500 no suffix - if 200mm fans are your thing

I) NZXT H700 non "i" version - Needs to come down in price to be worth it

I) Corsair Carbide 100R - Suitable for low end builds

The worst cases - Do Not Buy

I) NZXT S340/Elite, H500, H440 (everything except the H700) Reason: Poor airflow
I) Coolermaster Masterbox 5

Majority of cases on the market

Another good choice would be the Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 550W which would be a lot better than the Seasonic M12II, if you wanted to stick with the Seasonic brand.

As for the case, I'd choose the Meshify C just because it has a more open front panel for [theoretically] better air flow. For aesthetics I prefer the look of the NZXT from the glass panel side, but I don't like the look of it from the front or top. For me it would depend on how I was planning on displaying the case.

We are talking about the same case right? The case that either matched or beat The Meshify C Stock for Stock

nzxt h700i cpu all

nzxt h700i gpu all

Obviously if you put an additional fan or two in the case The Meshify wins easy, but thats not to say the H700 has no airflow. It's certainly better than the S340 and H500i, and in some ways better than the Define R6 (though at a greater noise level)

Based on price alone the Meshify C is a better value, unless you really like the aesthetic of the H700. If price isnt an issue, go with what you like. Either case should easily be able to cool a 2600 and a 1070ti no problem.

For $200 you could get the Meshify, some Noctua 140mm fans for the front of the Meshify and still have money left over to go from a 1070 Ti to a 1080

Hence why I stated the Meshify Is the better value, but this still doesnt change the fact that the H700 has airflow. It's about 6ºC cooler with the front panel off yes, but there are far worse cases for airflow. I would hardly call that a "no airflow" case.

I'm going to assume this was going to end with "Are options, something about theyre better in either performance or value" correct this statement if it's inaccurate.

I personally dont see how the Define R6 is considered "choked" airflow, considering how the side vents on the Define Series have been basically the same since it's inception, and there were otherwise very few complaints about inadequate airflow (The Define S stands out in my mind about people's positivity with its performance as a case) Also the H700 and the Define R6 are almost the same price now, with the obvious outlier being the popular Black TG version.

It's fine to crusade against cases with bad airflow (In win 805, Bitfenix Enso, Masterbox Pro 5) for the sake of a better case market, and even to seek improvement on otherwise "meh or fine" airflow cases, but to objectively state bad airflow for anything that isnt open mesh, or attacking cases that are targeting either a balance of airflow to silence or just silence in general is a bit too far IMO.

1 : What I mean by "Choked Airflow" is a closed front panel, I'm not saying the R6 has bad airflow; it's excellent for what it is just not as good as the Meshify, RL06 Pro, etc. Plus the R6 comes with all the fans you could need for an air cooled build (2x 140s in the front and 1x 120 in the back IIRC) so at $100 it's really a steal

2 : I love the R6, but the Enthoo Pro M is a *better* case all around

  1. To be fair, you're saying the R6 is not bad airflow, but you're saying the H700 has no airflow, when it has the same fan configuration (2x140mm front and 1x120mm rear) and performed better in GN's tests (not a be all end all as far as conclusions, but at least suggests there's at least a close correlation between the two's performance) My definition of "Choked front panel" Is a front panel that does not allow fans to breathe adequately, to the point where components inside actually thermal throttle unless the front panel is removed (EVGA DG-77, Antec P8) This is why cases like the H500 is okay to recommend for certain builds, but would be not recommended for a 1080ti and an 8700k
  2. And I would agree, but my issue was never with "value of case vs another" because that cannot be refuted. I even mentioned overall value in my first post
48 minutes ago, TVwazhere said:

My issue was never with price to performance, but the negativity towards a case that wasnt an airflow issue, especially given the mid-ish level system being put together.

I dont want to flood this post anymore than it already is. @ OP, either case will be fine. Meshify C is a better value but if you like the H700, there's nothing wrong with it that would make you want to stay away from it.

I don't know about the Meshify C, but I think my H700 airflow is perfect.
Good cooling on all the parts and my cpu temps improved a lot compared to the Corsair Spec Omega RGB

Unless you're going for one of NZXT's CRFT builds because your a l33thaxor I'd choose the Meshify C.

There are two versions one has tinted glass and it's quite dark so if you're wanting to show off the inside I'd get the non-tinted version.
