Recommendations for what to upgrade

Looking at my current setup (listed in profile), what would you recommend upgrading next? (I don't have a pair of headphones as of yet but that's next on the list).

All things considered it's a well rounded system. Where do you feel lacking? A pair of headphones would be a good buy otherwise.

Honestly, your current system is still pretty relevant. I mean you could grab a cheap and used 3770k and something like a h212 to cool it... and maybe drop in another 8gb of ram.

That would give you hyper-threading which would increase your performance... would allow you to overclock that cpu to 4.5-4.8ghz which would make it a lot more relevant... and then 8gb of ram because ram is nice lol.

The monitor. If you play competitive games like csgo and overwatch, get a 1080p 144Hz TN for lower input lag and smoother motion. If you play slower paced games where reaction time isnt the most important (and other things), get a 1080p 60/75Hz IPS monitor, for much better colour production and viewing angles.

whatever you do, dont upgrade the RAM or mobo or CPU seperately. If you think one of these 3 is too weak, then spend big to upgrade to a Ryzen or maybe Intel 6 core CPU. Upgrading a DDR3 based system at this point will give you much less for your money because new stuff are getting affordable.

That's gonna be the next big upgrade I make, probably when I get a new GPU that is bottlenecked by the CPU.
