The entry level AM5 outperforms the 12700KF, and has a much broader upgrade path

Budget (including currency): 1000 usd

Country: usa

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: fortnite/roblox/modded minecraft etc.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

no existing parts, only peripherals. aesthetics are a large part of it(its a girl), she likes white and pastel colors. here's what i came up with

7700x + 3080 + 32gb 6000c32

microcenter 7700x bundle for cpu mobo and rams

used gpu cause new will only get you trash nvidia gpus like the 4060 at this budget, though the rx 6800 is new for around 350$ so if you want new that is a viable option

just an all around upgrade mainly the platform and gpu but other stuff too like the psu ssd cooler etc.

If you have an extra drive on hand and are dead set on a white GPU, this is actually a pretty sweet deal that'll run all of those games way faster:

Or if you do the 12600kf bundle from microcenter with a bigger case to accommodate the bigger motherboard.  That'd saver you a decent amount of money and it's a better motherboard.

The 126090kf and 12700k are gonna be the same in every game.  It's the same core, just 2 more of them on the i7.  But the i5 is a way better deal, and since it has the 6 hyperthreaded cores for the game and 4 single threaded cores for everything else, it's more than enough.  More cores won't make it faster.  Some mods are super GPU intensive as well.  And if you get the itch to play any new games, the GPU demands get intense quickly.

Great, can you find an AMD GPU for this price? They have much better price to performance in the lower range

I would go 4060 still, as you get access to DLSS and Frame Generation, which can really boost framerate

4060 for 200?

just buy a used 3070 or 6700xt/6800 for ~250$ if you wanna cut abit of cost o the gpu

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QrFg7R

heres a version that doesnt rely on the microcenter bundle, more expensive and only a 7600 but turns out whiter in the end + white rgb rams
