This is the most expensive PC I could ever recommend for gaming.  If you set on bowing 10k, buy this and then go on a ballin ass vacation to wherever you want.  You'll be happier.

don't forget, he was looking for micro atx

I'm new to LTT forums so please let me know if this is in the wrong place or format!

Basically, I have $10,000 to spend on an awesome gaming rig. I will be using an Asus PG27UQ (not included in the budget), I am looking for a smaller form factor, and won't be needing accessory recommendations. I'd prefer an Intel/Nvidia based system, so whatever suggestions you all have I'd love to hear them!

My first suggestion would be: Don't.

Gaming PCs simply don't cost that much. At least, not without objectively wasting money they don't.

well, you'll need a custom water loop at that price point, it's the only sensible way to insanely overclock your awesome core i9 7980XE and twin GTX 1080 TIs. You can choose between two loops or one, and get some awesome colored fluid to go with it.

Side note: smaller form factor being micro atx? with mini itx, you'll have no way to spend all that money unless you get a unibody gold case or something.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

A new Intel platform and a new Nvidia consumer GPU generation is supposed to launch within the next few months, you might want to wait.

I sense...a troll.

Honestly though, you can spend less than half that and it'll make more sense. Then upgrade in a few years again. You'll still be under your $10k budget.

No matter how much you spend now, it'll be out of date in 3 or 4 years.

Assuming you are actually serious about this, what will you be using this computer for?

Not a troll, just trying to understand the high end custom gaming segment. I've never built anything over 2k, so I don't really know what I'm working with. First time in years I've had the opportunity/space to have a desktop. My last build was a 3770k with a 7970 so I'm really not current.

I'm looking for MicoATX as I move a lot and don't want something massive, though I can't find a case that I love. If anyone has a recommendation on a premium microATX case I'd appreciate it.

this might do it for a starter. Left the custom water loop out because PCPartPicker has nothing for it (obviously) and the aesthetics are moreso up to you.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

He wants a gaming pc not a workstation. That cpu will be worse than an 8700K for gaming.

If you overclock the living daylights out of it with the mother of all custom watercooling setups, which this budget allows, then you'll have that precious single threaded performance.

To really keep things on track, a monoblock will be necessary for the VRMs.

Thanks guys I'll check it out!

That build looks like a good start, but I'd probably adapt it to the suggested case. It's gorgeous.

No games will make use of an 18 core cpu.

I’d getting one of those glass topped PC Desk cases would be a start.  Custom loop, dual GPUs, each with their own rad, res and loop. Workstation-class CPU of which you’ll use tops 1/4 of the performance/core count of same with the amount of RAM and ofc some nice peripherals.

I would wait for the 8 core/16 thread i9 9900K. Also looks like this cpu might be soldered rather than using the usual Intel TIM.

you think this guy doesn't have the money for meme cooling? Maybe he can scope a golden sample online, or something from der8auer.

Until it loses it's crown to the i9 9900K which already looks better if the specs are correct.

There will always be a new CPU on the horizon to dethrone the current king.

That can be said for anything though, whether it is pc hardware or cars or phones etc. With this sort of budget he would be better waiting for Z390 and the next Nvidia gpu's imo.

well hopefully they make a coffee lake core i9 to waste money on as well. There is that nice advantage of quad channel, which I don't believe will be available on the consumer i9 playform. X399 is where it's at with the big budget.
