My Psu might be dead??!?

Go to solution Solved by IntMD,

As above, double check you've plugged any PCIe cables in to the GPU properly (sometimes they can be quite tight and might look like they are plugged in but aren't quite all in). Does sound like you PSU is faulty though, from the clock click the fan is making. I'd just return and get a replacement personally.

So when I turn on the system the first thing I saw was the gpu not turn on, but in fact I just checked the fan from the PSU, and they're just moving back and forth like they're stuck making a weird Chck Chck Chck sound. I think this might be the problem, because the PSU fan should spin when I turn it on.

try restarting your psu, if not, buy a better one like a TX650M Gold/

I'm using a Cx450, I have tried unplugging everything, putting it back in an out. Trying different outlets, it doesn't seem to work. It also doesn't seem to power the gpu.

Can't get a refund, Newegg policy only allows replacements.

If I get a new one and the fan works then I'll RMA the gpu maybe it's both things that don't work.

Where should it light up?
I mean the cpu fan and case fans are working..
Also the leds from the fans (Powered directly from the psu) aren't working correctly but flickering.

did you plug in the extra 8-pin and 6-pin cables into the gpu id you did then RMA both for good measure

There's only one 6+2 pin for Pcie on this psu.
And the gpu only requires one 8-pin.

As above, double check you've plugged any PCIe cables in to the GPU properly (sometimes they can be quite tight and might look like they are plugged in but aren't quite all in). Does sound like you PSU is faulty though, from the clock click the fan is making. I'd just return and get a replacement personally.

Will it cost shipping?
Or will Amazon (Psu)
And Newegg (GPU) cover that?

Is it normal for a psu fan to go back and forth like it's locked in one place? So it reverses like a cm and then goes forward like a cm?

I've never seen it. As the other guy said, my current one is either on and spinning or off and still. Might just be a dodgy bearing in the fan.

You should be able to return it to the store you bought it from if it died that quickly.
