What if you are asked to wear a costume at a wedding?

The story goes like this:My best friend's wedding is coming in the next month.She is fond of the cosplay.I hope to send her a costume as a gift ,but she asked me to wear a costume that day instead of sending it to her.However,I am worry about whether it is appropriate for me to wear a costume (such as dress up as a spider man) at her wedding.As her parents ,friends and the groom's parents will all be there.I am very contradictions ,on the one hand ,I don't want to let her down.On the other hand,I don't want to do something wrong in such an holy occasion.
So ,please  do give me some suggestions about this.Or what do you think of some people wear a costume at a wedding?

You should probably talk to her and the groom and make sure that if you do it, everyone’s doing it. Also wtf, why does she want you to cosplay at a wedding lol, isn’t the wedding supposed to be about the couple and not superheros?

Well yeah you just show up and pretend nothing is out of the ordinary. Then if anyone asks what you're wearing you just act confused and act like you don't know what they're talking about

You must be a good actor.But it hard to do like this.I am afraid they would ask me to wear costumes at weddings from then on.

having been a DJ's assistant at a wedding, the worst thing you can do is try to stand out. It's their day (even if they asked you to do it) and all the attention should be on them, you do not want to be accused of ruining the wedding

Just don't dress like the wedding is an orgy party. What is the wedding like? Conservative church style or is it like one of those wild party style in which people dance to oppa gangnam style and party rock anthem?

Definitely it is.This is also why I am here to ask for advice.The only thing I want to do at that day is to show my best wishes to her,even though we had so much happiness before.

I would be the former style I suppose.I had already talk to her,but she said it is better to ignore what other people would think about.

She even showed me a picture of the costume she want me to wear, comes from Cosmanles.com. Spider man is the best choice she said.
